Sports sponsorships
bwin is one of the most well-known brands in the sports betting industry. As an established sponsor in some of the world’s most popular sports, bwin has also made a name for itself on an international level.
Football has always been the crème-de-la-crème of sports and is the core sport when it comes to sports betting. It is therefore the first pillar in the international bwin sports sponsoring strategy.
The second pillar is MotoGP. bwin has been title sponsor of a number of races and a valued supporter in the world of motorcycling for several years. The third pillar in the bwin sports sponsoring strategy is basketball. bwin has worked closely with the International Basketball Federation ("FIBA") since 2006.
Real Madrid
bwin has been main sponsor of the Spanish record-breakers since 2007. In September 2009 the original three-year contract was extended to 2013. As main sponsor, we have exclusive advertising rights on the team jerseys. In addition to the international reach that our association with Real Madrid creates, we are also able to offer our customers a unique experience with the team’s stars. Whether it be exclusive seats with the club president, the chance to experience a game from the bwin box, touring the stadium or seats at the heart of the action, right on the edge of the pitch.
MotoGP
For years, bwin has been a significant partner to MotoGP, the premier category of the Motorcycle World Championships. In 2011, we are title sponsors of the races at Jerez in Spain and Estoril in Portugal. The riders will be flanked by the bwin logo from the starting grid right up until the winner’s ceremony. In addition, there will also be a bwin corner and a bwin bridge at the World Championship races in Brno (Czech Republic), as well as Mugello and Misano (both in Italy).
Basketball
bwin's first involvement with FIBA was as event sponsor at the European Championships in 2005 in Serbia and Montenegro. Having been a huge success, we then entered into and more long-term partnership and have been official global partner of FIBA and their sponsor for all European and World Championships since 2006 and our contract has been extended until 2014. We seek to ensure that the basketball arenas are filled with bwin branded banners and our logo is present on official FIBA advertising material. In addition, we also seek to invite bwin customers to join fans at tournaments and enjoy superb promotional activities.
Other sponsorships
bwin has been sponsor of the Portuguese premier league since 2005. For the current season bwin will be the league’s official gaming and betting partner. Until 2013, the league cup will also be known as the ‘bwin Cup’.
In July 2010, bwin concluded a sponsoring contract with Italy's second-tier football league, Serie B, which will be known as ‘Serie bwin’ until the summer of 2012.
bwin has signed a three-season partnership with the Padel Pro Tour circuit, that now will be named "bwin Padel Pro Tour". Padel Tennis is an immensely popular game in Spain, Argentina, Mexico and the USA. It is growing rapidly around the world. Originating in Acapulco in 1969 the game has spread predominantly in the popular holiday destinations of the Costa Del Sol on the Southern Coast of Spain. bwin gets official title sponsor and official betting partner and exclusive live streaming rights for all events.
In skiing bwin is sponsoring the world famous Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbühel (Austria) until 2012. As part of the sponsorship agreement, bwin will have an exclusive presence at the legendary Seidlalm curve with a spectacular sixty-meter advertising board during the Super G and downhill races.
