Community engagement

bwin.party believes in the power of commitment and collaboration in the local community.

With over 3,100 employees located in eleven different countries around the world, we are keen to ensure that we play our part in putting something back into local communities where we have a physical presence. Through a formal pro bono scheme we hope to encourage our staff to donate a small proportion of their time at work to local charity, community or environmental projects. This would be in addition to any financial contributions that we may make in accordance with a pre-determined charity policy.

We recognise our responsibilities in society, but our approach isn’t just about being a good corporate citizen and doing the right thing. Empowering the individual to donate time, their most valuable resource, is something that is valued highly by employees, many of whom may never have had the opportunity to contribute so directly to their local communities.

Employee volunteering activity

Through a formal pro bono scheme we hope to encourage our employees to spend between 4-8 hours of their time on charitable, community or environmental projects. This will allow them to enhance their personal development and broaden their personal perspective whilst returning something to their local communities.

Previous initiatives that our staff have been involved with include supporting the homeless in east London, a women’s refuge in Gibraltar, orphans in Sofia, children’s hostels in Tel Aviv and centres for the elderly in Hyderabad.

Charity and donations

In addition to the efforts of our employees though pro bono activities, both bwin and PartyGaming have a history of offering financial support to a number of worthy causes. In the past this has tended to focus on supporting gambling-related charities, but not exclusively. We have also made contributions to a number of other important initiatives such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Disaster Relief Fund of Red Cross, the "Pioneers for Change" course for social entrepreneurs, Children’s Cancer Research and Children’s Cancer Aid.
